Our Toddler Program provides a safe, engaging space for your little one to explore, learn, and develop essential skills through play and discovery.

Key milestones for a Toddler

Toddlers experience rapid physical growth and refinement of motor skills. Key milestones include walking independently, running, climbing, jumping, and navigating stairs with support. Fine motor skills advance as they begin to stack blocks, scribble with crayons, use utensils, and manipulate small objects.
Cognitive skills in toddlers are marked by curiosity and the ability to solve simple problems. They start engaging in pretend play, matching objects, completing basic puzzles, and understanding cause and effect. This stage also includes improved memory and recognition skills, as they begin to remember familiar faces, routines, and objects.
Language development during toddlerhood is characterized by a rapidly expanding vocabulary and improved communication skills. By age two, toddlers may know between 50 to 100 words and start forming simple two- to three-word sentences like “more juice” or “mama help.”
Social and emotional growth is evident as toddlers begin to express a wider range of emotions, such as joy, frustration, and affection. They engage in parallel play with peers, showing early signs of social interaction, and begin to demonstrate empathy by reacting to others’ emotions.
A significant milestone in toddlerhood is the drive toward independence. Toddlers learn to feed themselves with utensils, assist in dressing, wash their hands with guidance, and show interest in potty training. These self-help skills boost their confidence and sense of autonomy, providing a strong foundation for further growth and development.

This is an exceptional center. Both of my children have been under the care of Chyrese and she truly has a heart for children. My youngest was under her care from infancy to grade school. Hands down the best place for your child in the area.

Toddler Curriculum

We prepare our toddlers for pre-school by introducing them to the Abeka and Funshine
curriculum. Toddlers enjoy a daily group-time which focuses on reading stories and learning colors, shapes, and numbers.

Interactive story time, songs, and engaging language activities foster early communication skills, vocabulary growth, and a love for reading. Toddlers are encouraged to express themselves through words, gestures, and sounds, laying the foundation for effective communication.
Hands-on activities such as puzzles, drawing, stacking, and bead threading are designed to develop fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. These tasks help toddlers gain control over small movements, preparing them for more complex skills.
Activities designed to enhance gross motor skills such as running, jumping, climbing, and balancing help toddlers build strength, coordination, and confidence in their movements. Play-based exercises encourage physical exploration and active participation.
Group activities, cooperative play, and guided social interactions support toddlers in building social skills, empathy, and emotional regulation. Through sharing, turn-taking, and expressing their feelings, toddlers learn to connect with others in meaningful ways.
Art and music activities provide toddlers with opportunities to express their creativity and imagination. Through painting, crafting, and musical play, children explore different materials and sounds, enhancing their artistic abilities and self-expression.
Structured routines, such as snack time, self-feeding, and helping with simple tasks, promote independence and self-help skills. Consistent schedules provide toddlers with a sense of security, while daily tasks teach responsibility and basic self-care.
